Five Things 1/4/06
Jan. 4th, 2006 08:19 amFine, fine, fine. I guess this will make me feel better or something and all the cool kids are doing it.
2005 is split into two parts for me and probably for a lot of people. Pre-Katrina and Post-Katrina. Pre-Katrina was pretty ok. I went to Disney World, Kennedy Space Center and saw the Atlantic Ocean for the first time. I went to Pensacola to the National Museum of Naval Aviation and had a good visit with my grandmother's brother who is a veteran of Korea and Vietnam. And I was finally getting "back to normal" after my grandfather's death. Then on August 28, all hell broke loose. I had 7 members of my family and two chihuahuas in my one-bedroom apartment for twelve days. Yes, yes, they were lucky, they had a home to go back to after twelve days and I was glad they were with me and safe. But you know my family. And I realized on New Year's Eve, that I am just damn depressed. But anyway, five things that I am thankful for today. I hope I can find them.
1) Going to my surrogate family's house tonight to watch the USC/Texas game on their big new 52" TV.
2) Surrogate family's gumbo.
3) Louisiana weather.
4) I have a "good" job.
5) My family is more than 200 miles away.
There. Five things. That wasn't so bad.
