I finished Morrigan's Cross by Nora Roberts last night. It is the first book in her new Circle Trilogy. I saw this on another Reading Challenge partipant's page (sorry I can't remember who you are) and it looked interesting. My grandmother is on a vampire kick lately and I thought I'd read these and pass them on to her. While she was here during a visit, she decided she wanted her own set, so much for that. I believe this is the first Nora Roberts book I've read, and I must say, I'm not terribly impressed. It's formulaic, and cheesy in that romance genre way. She also attempts the supernatural and that's cheesy, too. But, I'm a completist and two of the characters intrigue me (not the main ones) so I'll be finishing the set.

Beyond Band of Brothers: The War Memoirs of Major Dick Winters, finished October 1, 2006

I've been reading this book for about six months. Partly because I've been so busy that I haven't had time to finish and partly because it's one of those books that I read and don't want to end. This is a book that you want to savor every word on the page and every tear that you shed for the bravery and humbleness of men "just doing their jobs" and of men that never came home.
