The West Wing
Jan. 18th, 2009 11:43 amFirst of all, hello and welcome, new friends. Thank you to the delicious and gracious
kathrynrose for sending you all.
As Kate said, I've never seen The West Wing. I bought the whole set for a good price on Amazon from her recommendation and I am working my way through it for the first time. I've seen six eps and have shed some tears through every one. I love these characters already and the ensemble is great.
I'm cutting and please, no spoilers past S1: 1 - 6.
Yesterday, I watched:
1-05 "The Crackpots and These Women"
The first Big Block of Cheese Day or Total Crackpot Day, according to Josh. Also, chili.
Favorite Quotes:
"I want to be a comfort to my friends in tragedy and to be able to celebrate with them in triumph. And for all the times in between, I just want to be able to look them in the eye." - - Josh, after giving back the NSA card.
"You are kind of sweet." - CJ to Josh, after Josh tells her about the NSA card.
And I loved the exchange between Toby and Bartlet about Toby not being his first pick, Toby's paranoia and Bartlet's reassurances to him. Loved it, am possibly living it.
Tears shed: four kleenexs and a shirtsleeve's worth.
1-06 "Mr. Willis of Ohio"
Mr. Smith does go to Washington. And I wish that this is how things are happening in Washington. Also, poker and a census lesson.
Favorite Quotes:
"The President's daughter, Chief of Staff's daughter, a Georgetown bar and Sam. What could possibly go wrong? " - Josh on orders to take Charlie out after work.
And how much do I love Charlie?
And Leo. Poor Leo.
I still say that this is a smart, intelligent show that you have to keep pace with, it doesn't wait for you to catch up and I love that about it.
I want all of them for my very own.
