Ho

So like the grinch, my cold black heart has grown. But only one size and all I can muster is one Ho from Ho, Ho, Ho. I've watched Elf. I've attended a children's Christmas play. I've attended an evening cantata in an old church decorated with poinsettias and candlelight. I've vacationed with the Griswold's. I've gone to the mall and listened to a middle school's Christmas recital. I've gotten nostalgic, damn it. But it's still not there.

I was invited to the American Rose Center's Christmas in Roseland on Saturday. We drove two hours to arrive at dusk and lo, Christmas in Roseland this year is unplugged. Unplugged, I say!

My last chance and only hope is to be visited by three ghosts on Christmas eve. I hope one of them brings some Bailey's for my hot chocolate.
